Terms of Use

PreviewMD("the app") is an application for macOS, iPadOS and iOS published by xfanta and distributed through the App Store. By downloading or using the app you agree to these terms and to Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA), which governs your license to use the app.

License

PreviewMD is licensed, not sold. You get a personal, non-exclusive license to install and use the app on the Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store terms and the Apple EULA. The app and its source code are proprietary; you may not decompile, reverse-engineer, redistribute, or resell the app except as allowed by applicable law or the EULA.

Your documents

You retain all rights to the documents you open, edit and export with PreviewMD. You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to use those files. Exported HTML and PDF files are yours to use as you see fit.

No warranty

The app is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Rendering, diff comparison and export are produced automatically and may differ from other Markdown implementations; keep your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose, and verify exported documents before relying on them.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, xfanta shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or business, arising from the use of or inability to use the app.

Open-source components

PreviewMD renders documents with open-source components — among them markdown-it, highlight.js, KaTeX, Mermaid, github-markdown-css, jsdiff and diff2html — used under their MIT, BSD and ISC licenses. Their copyright notices ship with the app.
